Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Oculapps85 ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the RoadBook application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for the App is Oculapps85. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@oculapps85.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect what is needed to provide the App's features.
Account information: When you sign in, we use Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us with a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name. We do not receive your Apple password. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we only receive a private relay address. We store a display name that you can change in the app.
Your routes and content (private): Routes, roadbooks, tulip diagrams, notes, images, and personal preferences that you create are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, synced across your devices through Apple's iCloud/CloudKit. This private content is stored in your own iCloud account; we do not have access to it.
Community content (public): If you choose to share a route to the community, the route data (such as title, description, distance, decision points, traffic signs placed on the tulips, and route geometry) is uploaded to our cloud database and becomes visible to other users. You control whether a route is shared, with one exception: on the free plan all routes are public. If your Premium subscription ends, routes you kept private become public 14 days after the App first notifies you of this, unless you delete them or subscribe to Premium again within that period (see section 7 of the Terms of Use). By default, the texts you add to the roadbook (instructions per line, your own text lines, and adjusted street names) are shared along with the route, so other users can read them; you can turn this off in your profile settings. Do not include personal information in these texts. Your cover page, logo, header text, and photos are never uploaded to the community; they stay in your private iCloud storage.
Interactions: When you like, download, or report a community route, we store your account identifier in association with that route so the feature can work and to prevent abuse.
Feedback: If you send feedback or a suggestion, we store your message, your account identifier, and (optionally) an email address you provide, along with basic context such as app version, device type, and region.
Usage statistics: We collect limited, aggregated usage information to understand how the App is used, including a daily record of active accounts, device type, country/region, and counts of certain feature usage (for example, how often the route planner is used). We do not use this data to build advertising profiles.
Purchases: If you subscribe to Premium, the purchase is handled by Apple; we never receive your payment details. To unlock Premium on all your devices, your account identifier and your purchase history for the App (product, purchase and renewal dates, subscription status, and the price paid) are processed by our subscription provider RevenueCat. A summary of your subscription status is also stored with your account so we can provide support.
Location: The App uses your device location to show the map, center it on your position, and help you plan and edit routes. Location is processed for these features and is not shared with us as a tracking profile. You can control location access in your device settings.
What we NOT do: We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising. We do not use Firebase Analytics or similar behavioral tracking SDKs for advertising purposes.
3. Service providers (processors)
We use the following providers to operate the App. They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:
Apple: (Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit) — account sign-in and private data sync.
Google Firebase: (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, App Check) — community content, feedback, usage statistics, and abuse prevention.
RevenueCat: managing Premium subscriptions and restoring purchases across devices.
4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Performance of a contract: to provide the App's core features (account, sync, community).
Legitimate interests: to keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and improve the App through aggregated statistics.
Consent: where required, for example location access, which you can grant or revoke at any time in device settings.
5. How long we keep data
- Private content is kept in your iCloud account for as long as you keep it.
- Community content is kept until you delete the route or your account, or until it is removed through moderation.
- Feedback and usage statistics are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above and then deleted or anonymized.
6. Sharing and visibility
Community content you choose to share is publicly visible to other users of the App. Anything you publish may be viewed, downloaded, and reported by others. Do not include private or sensitive information in content you share publicly.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Delete your account and associated data from within the App (see Terms, "Account deletion").
- Contact us at info@oculapps85.com to exercise any of these rights.
- You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under the age required by law in your country (for example, 16 in parts of the EU, 13 in some other regions). We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls, server-side security rules, and Firebase App Check to help ensure that only legitimate copies of the App can access our backend.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers operated by our providers outside your country. Where required, appropriate safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
